Assay Selection Guide
To guide your in selecting the appropriate tumor assay from the RainSure assay products portfolio, it is essential to align your clinical or research goals with the specific genetic targets and sample types supported by the platform.
1. Identify the Primary Cancer Type
The first step is narrowing down the assay list based on the specific malignancy being studied or monitored. RainSure offers specialized panels for several key areas:
- Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC): Choose the comprehensive NSCLC panel for detecting a broad range of mutations across genes like EGFR, ALK, BRAF, KRAS, PIK3CA, and TP53.
- Colorectal Cancer(CRC): Choose the CRC panel for detecting mutations like KRAS, NRAS, BRAF, PIK3CA and TP53.
- Breast Cancer: Choose the assays for detecting PIK3CA, ESR1 and TP53.
- Hematologic Malignancies: For blood-based cancers, RainSure provides reliable assays for clinical research in CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia) and JMML (Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia).
2. Determine Specific Mutation Targets
If the customer has a focused interest in specific markers, particularly for monitoring treatment resistance or guiding targeted therapy, guide them to the following:
- EGFR Mutations: For lung cancer monitoring, RainSure's assays cover critical mutations such as L858R and E746_A750del.
- Resistance Monitoring: If the goal is to detect resistance to late-generation TKIs, recommend the assays targeting T790M and C797S.
3. Match the Sample Type to the Technology
The choice often depends on whether the customer is working with tissue or non-invasive samples:
- Liquid Biopsy: If the customer requires non-invasive monitoring (e.g., using plasma for ctDNA), highlight the high sensitivity of the RS32 or DropDx system for liquid biopsy applications.
- Tissue-Based Research: For standard solid tumor analysis, RainSure assays are compatible with most existing tissue processing workflow.
4. Consult the Performance Needs
For customers requiring high-precision data without the need for standard curves—common in longitudinal monitoring—emphasize the absolute quantification capabilities of the RainSure digital PCR platform.
